Getting started

What airloop.live does, how streams stay live, and how it connects to your channel.

What is airloop.live?

It streams the videos you upload from our servers to your YouTube channel live, and to Twitch and Kick at the same time if you want. Videos play in order and the playlist loops, so your channel stays live until you stop it.

Can I stream pre-recorded videos 24/7 on YouTube?

Yes. YouTube doesn’t cap live stream length, and streaming recorded content isn’t prohibited by itself. The limits are about content: copyright, reused content and spam policies still apply to 24/7 streams.

Can I run a 24/7 live stream with my computer off?

Yes. The stream runs on our servers, not your computer. Turning your computer off, losing your internet or traveling won’t affect it.

What happens if my 24/7 stream goes down?

Live streams are checked every minute. If a stream drops or loses connection, it restarts automatically, picks up where it left off, and the event is logged in your dashboard. After 5 stops in a row, automatic retries end; check the event log, your stream key and videos, then restart it yourself. We can’t fix a reset stream key or YouTube stopping a stream over copyright or policy, which is why we don’t promise 100% uptime. We recommend turning off auto-stop in Live Control Room; if it stays on, YouTube ends the stream about a minute after the video signal stops.

Will staying live bring me viewers?

Not by itself. Our job is keeping the stream on; viewers depend on your content, your title and your channel. Watch hours also count the time people actually watch, not how long the stream is live.

Can I stream on Twitch and Kick too?

Yes. YouTube comes first, but you can also stream to Twitch and Kick from the same dashboard. Just enter a stream key for each platform; Kick also needs your account’s server URL.

Can I send one stream to several platforms?

Yes. With multistreaming, you can send one stream to YouTube, Twitch and Kick at the same time. Every platform gets the same video, and it counts as one stream slot. You choose the platforms for each stream.

Do I need to give access to my YouTube account?

No. We don’t ask you to link your channel or grant YouTube permissions. If you sign in with Google, it only verifies who you are and requests no YouTube access. Just enter the stream key from the live stream you set up in YouTube Studio. You can reset the key in YouTube Studio anytime.

Videos and quality

File formats, stream quality and archives.

Which video formats can I upload?

You can upload MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, M4V, AVI, FLV and TS files. Each file is converted once to 1080p 30 fps H.264/AAC after upload, so nothing is re-encoded while live.

What quality do you stream in?

Landscape videos stream at 1920×1080 and vertical videos at 1080×1920, at 30 fps with a target bitrate of about 4,500 kbps. That’s within YouTube’s recommended range for 1080p live streams.

Can I loop a playlist of videos?

Yes. Line up as many videos as you like; they play in order and the playlist loops when it ends. The only requirement is that all videos in a playlist share the same orientation, either all landscape or all vertical.

Are streams longer than 12 hours archived?

Your stream won’t stop at 12 hours, since YouTube doesn’t cap live stream length. But recordings of streams over 12 hours may not stay on your channel as videos. That’s YouTube’s archiving rule.

Stream slots and billing

How slots work, extra storage, payment methods and cancellation.

What is a “stream slot”?

A stream slot lets you keep one stream live at a time. If you run one channel, one slot is enough. To keep three different streams live at once, you need three slots. Sending the same stream to YouTube, Twitch and Kick counts as one slot. You can add or remove slots anytime. Create as many streams as you like; the limit is only how many can be live at once.

What happens if I run out of storage?

Your streams and uploaded videos aren’t affected; you just can’t upload new videos that don’t fit. To make room, delete some videos or add storage from your Library.

How do I get extra storage, and can I cancel it?

With an active plan, you can add 100 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB or 1 TB from your Library. Prices start at $7/month and include tax. If you cancel, the space stays until the end of the billing period and your videos aren’t deleted. If you’re over your total storage by then, you won’t be able to upload new videos until you make room.

How do payments work?

Payments are processed by Stripe, by credit or debit card, in US dollars. The subscription renews automatically each month.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. When you cancel from your dashboard, service continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and then it won’t renew. Your stream doesn’t stop right away; it shuts down 2 days after the period ends. There’s no commitment or cancellation fee.

Account and responsibility

Content responsibility and where your data is stored.

Who is responsible for copyright?

You’re responsible for owning the rights to what you stream or having the necessary permissions. airloop.live only provides the technical infrastructure; the account holder is responsible for following each platform’s rules and copyright law.

Where is my data stored?

Your encoded videos are transferred to cloud storage over an encrypted connection and stay tied to your account. When you delete your account, your files are deleted too.

What should I know about streaming recorded content on Twitch and Kick?

Twitch asks you to check the Rerun box in your stream info and start the title with [Rerun] for recorded content. On Kick, recorded streams aren’t banned outright, but they may count against you for verification and the Partner program. You set these on each platform’s own dashboard, and following the rules is the account holder’s responsibility.
